Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised for her pioneering the science of eyewitness memory in children and utilizing child victims to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded many grants and was awarded numerous international and national distinctions. She consults with numerous nations and organizations around the world regarding policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
