Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She was credited with launching research in modern science on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as using child victims when in court. Professor Goodman has published widely with numerous grants, and has was awarded several international and national prizes. She has provided advice to numerous government institutions and authorities across the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims within the justice system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional associations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
