Adults refer to animals or humans which have attained their maximum development. The human world of adults refer to the social and legal aspects. As opposed to a "non-adult" or "minor" legally adult is at the point of majority, and therefore is regarded as an independent, self-sufficient person and dependable. A legal adult can be referred to as a major. The age of 18 is the legal adult age, but the definition of adulthood can vary depending on the country, rights of the law or the development of a person's psychological.

When a human reaches full physical and intellectual maturity, this is called adulthood. Adulthood is commonly thought of as beginning at age 20 or 21. It is around 60 years later than middle years. There are three primary stages of adulthood early adults (18 to mid-30s), middle adulthood (mid-30s until mid-60s), and late adulthood (mid-60s until the time of death). When we reach early adulthood the body is at its physical maturity to the maximum. But, the body's size and weight could grow. When we are young our physical capabilities are at their best which includes muscular strength, reaction time, sensory abilities, and heart function.
